I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. After Jesus' death and resurrection, his apostles were martyred and the priesthood authority (Hebr 5:4-10) along with many important parts of the doctrine were lost. But Jesus Christ has restored His church again to the earth.
There are living prophets (Amos 3:7) and apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ who lead and guide His church today. There are temples where families can be sealed together not just for this life, but also after death (see the beautiful temple below where my husband and I were married!) Jesus Christ paid for the sins of all men (and women!) and all he asks in return is that we believe in Him (John 11:25), follow his commandments (John 14:15) and help others find their way to Him (Matt 28:19; Mark 16:15; John 21:17), which if we do He blesses us even more.
We strive to live lives of virtue, maintaining high moral standards that are in harmony with the Savior's teachings. We believe that the family is central to God's plan for happiness in this life and the next, that marriage is between one man and one woman and children have the right to be born into a family with a husband and a wife who love each other and strive to live the teachings of Jesus.
We believe in keeping our bodies free from substances that impair our judgement, endanger our lives and/or lead to addictive behaviors. We believe in dressing modestly, that the bodies God created are sacred and should be treated with respect. We believe in being good citizens and in helping those in need. We strive to live the kind of life the Savior would want us to live, avoiding that which is vulgar, degrading and demoralizing.
